Why We Do It
Playing the electric guitar is about the immediate, visceral release of musical expression. It transforms a piece of wood and wire into a highly responsive machine, allowing you to physically shape electricity into the riffs and tones you’ve always listened to.
Understanding the Camps
Solid-Body vs. Acoustic-Electric. Understand the distinct camps before you buy. Solid-body electrics (like an Ibanez AZES or Squier Strat) rely entirely on magnetic pickups and amplifiers, perfect for high-gain rock, blues, and tapping. Acoustic-electrics have a hollow resonant body for unplugged play, but can be plugged into an acoustic amp for live performances.
